- I began my career with the Irmo Fire District in Columbia, SC in 1984 as a volunteer firefighter and accepted a career position in 1986 upon graduation from high school. I accepted a position with the South Carolina Fire Academy in 1988 where I was employed as a Program Specialist/Regional Training Supervisor. I have been employed with the Savannah River Site Fire-Rescue Department since 1992 where I currently serve as a Captain at our Headquarters Station (Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue (Heavy Rescue), Medic 1 and 4 (ALS) as well as a brush unit and boat. Previous assignments include the shift Training/Safety Officer. Previously served as a Task Force Leader with SCTF-1 (South Carolina Urban Search and Rescue Task Force)

I don't know a whole lot about Augusta, other than I've been to the Masters a couple of times, and also visited my brothers at Aiken Prep when they were there a million years ago, but I remember everyone always being really nice wherever we went.
You've been a firefighter since before you even graduated from high school?? Wow...
