I began my career with the Irmo Fire District in Columbia, SC in 1984 as a volunteer firefighter and accepted a career position in 1986 upon graduation from high school. I accepted a position with the South Carolina Fire Academy in 1988 where I was employed as a Program Specialist/Regional Training Supervisor. I have been employed with the Savannah River Site Fire-Rescue Department since 1992 where I currently serve as a Captain at our Headquarters Station (Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue (Heavy Rescue), Medic 1 and 4 (ALS) as well as a brush unit and boat. Previous assignments include the shift Training/Safety Officer. Previously served as a Task Force Leader with SCTF-1 (South Carolina Urban Search and Rescue Task Force)

Rudy, hi, and thank you for your friend request! If we play our cards right, maybe one day we Georgians will outnumber all the others on this site, and there will be peace and harmony throughout the land. Just kidding, of course. (But, not really!) :-))

I don't know a whole lot about Augusta, other than I've been to the Masters a couple of times, and also visited my brothers at Aiken Prep when they were there a million years ago, but I remember everyone always being really nice wherever we went.

You've been a firefighter since before you even graduated from high school?? Wow...
